The University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) is seeking applications for the position of Research Assistant for an internationally funded research project. The project, titled 'Untapping the wheat wild relative (Triticum dicoccoides) genepool for sodicity-salinity drought and high temperature resistance in salt-affected soils under field conditions', is funded by the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Germany. This is an excellent opportunity for postgraduate students in Soil Science or Environmental Science to gain hands-on research experience under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saqib at the Institute of Soil & Environmental Sciences.
The selected candidate will work on cutting-edge agricultural research addressing critical soil salinity and climate resilience challenges. The appointment is purely on a contract basis and will continue until the completion of the project, offering a competitive monthly stipend and valuable academic exposure.
Candidates should preferably be enrolled in Ph.D or M.Sc (Hons.) in Soil Science or Environmental Science, or be ready to enroll in a Ph.D program in these fields. Additionally, applicants must have no third division in their academic career.
The position offers a fixed monthly salary package of Rs. 60,000 until the completion of the research project.
